The AppEazy System utilizes platform virtualization to provide you with three different types of sessions. The first session type is a Windows Server referred to as the server session. The server session is where company data and server software are installed. This session is what would traditionally be a dedicated server, but with Applianz technology it is all on one server. The other two session types are closely related. The Template session is not used on a daily basis, but rather is set up as a workstation exactly as you want it, and then cloned many times into what are called application sessions. The application session is what is used to run the workstation software.
A user of the AppEazy System connects using a thin client known as AppEazy Connect. It securely connects the user to an already running application session, and displays the workstation software for your application. The Applianz Client is a thin-client which remotely displays the application session. When processor-intense operations are performed in the software, they use the processor of the AppEazy System, instead of the user’s PC. Only when the software on the application session changes the display is that visual change transferred to the Applianz Client software. Since only a small amount of visual display information is transferred from the Applianz System to the Applianz Client it is possible to use the Applianz Client from any location outside your network. The only requirement is that you configure your firewall or router to allow the Applianz Client to make the connection to your Applianz System.
The Applianz System is a 2U server with an LCD display on the front, and a network port in the back. The system is designed to be placed on a flat surface, or installed in a server rack. The display on the front is used to change the IP Address and to reboot and turn off the system. All other operations are performed over the network. The internal hardware of the AppEazy System varies depending on the model, but generally consists of a motherboard, one or more multi-core CPUs, two or more hard drives and a 500W power supply.
Because the AppEazy System uses virtualization it allows us to provide a backup solution that not only backs up your company data, but backs up the entire state of both the server session, and application session exactly as it was when the backup was made. This method of backing up the operating system, and all data on it makes it possible to quickly and easily correct user accidents or failed software upgrades that may occur without the need for reinstalling your software. Applianz’s backup technology also enables us to remotely backup the entire state of your system to our backup facility in the case of a natural disaster, or major hardware failure.

Automated nightly system backups replicate not only critical data, but also the entire system configuration and user settings. Every AppEazy system stores the most recent 30 days of backups on-site and securely off-site.
In the event of a business interruption, a customer’s most recent nightly backup will be uploaded to a remote AppEazy system in one our data centers where all users will get reconnected automatically. Even with a a system failure or natural disaster, users are normally fully functional again within four hours or less. No more days of downtime!
